"Branca" Branch Sculpture – Reshaping Collection

The Concept:

Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Branca begins with what the season leaves behind — a bare branch, stripped of leaves, the winter architecture of a tree exposed. Collected and dried, the branch is then worked by hand: dozens of small yarn pompom flowers, handmade in The Studio, are attached at every fork and tip — deep crimson against dark bark, colour returning to a form that had lost it. The branch becomes a permanent seasonal arrangement, a piece of textile work grafted onto found material.

The Form:

Each Branca is unique — the branch determines the composition, the yarn flowers follow its logic. At approximately 100cm in horizontal spread, Branca is a room-scale object. Placed in the Globus vessel or any large opening, it extends dramatically to one side, filling a corner, a wall, a window recess with the suggestion of a tree in bloom. The crimson yarn flowers are handmade — each one slightly different, each one placed by hand.
