The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Penya takes its name from the Catalan word for rocky outcrop — the ancient, wind-carved cliff faces that define the Costa Brava coastline. Hand-built in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper, this vessel form references geological mass: something that has been shaped not by intention but by pressure, weather, and time.
The Form:
The deliberate faceting of Penya's surface creates a form that catches light differently from every angle — part stone, part sculpture, part vessel. At approximately 22cm, it holds dried botanicals with quiet weight, or stands alone as a presence on a shelf or table. The chalk-white mineral finish shifts between warm and cool depending on the light, making the piece feel alive throughout the day.
