The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Soleil Petit is the smaller counterpart to Soleil — the same disc form, the same faceted edge, the same chalk-white mineral surface, scaled to 15cm. Where the larger Soleil commands a shelf, Soleil Petit settles into a corner of a desk, a windowsill, a bedside surface. Small enough to hold in both hands. Specific enough to stop you in your tracks.
The Form:
Hand-built in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper, the disc form sits flat and stable on any surface, the single opening at the top accepting one stem or several — dried wheat, a single olive branch, a handful of grasses fanning outward. The faceted edge catches light differently from every angle, the chalk-white surface shifting between warm and cool throughout the day.
