The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Alba is a study in form and restraint. Hand-built in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper, this tall vessel form references the ancient amphora — not as imitation, but as memory. The narrow neck, the swelling body, the chalk-white mineral surface: all of it points somewhere older than design.
The Form:
Alba stands 24cm tall with a diameter of approximately 12cm at its widest point. The textured exterior surface — built up through successive layers of paper and natural binders — shifts between smooth and raw, between intentional and eroded. It holds dried botanicals with quiet authority, or stands alone as a sculptural presence on a shelf or table.
