"Globus" Vessel Form – Reshaping Collection

The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Globus is the collection's most generous form — a full sphere, wide and low, built from layered house-made pattern paper in a warm sand and travertine finish that references the ancient storage vessels of the Mediterranean: the amphorae, the oil jars, the forms that held everything worth keeping. Hand-built in The Studio, the surface finish is the warmest in the collection — closer to stone, to bone, to the colour of harbour walls in late afternoon light.
The Form:
At 32cm in diameter and 26cm tall, Globus commands any surface it sits on. The wide opening accepts large branches, tall dried stems, or a single dramatic botanical arrangement. The sphere is not perfect — the hand-built process leaves the surface specific and unrepeatable, the warmth of the finish shifting between amber and chalk depending on the light. A piece that changes with the room rather than staying fixed.
