"Escaire" Sculptural Form – Reshaping Collection

The Concept:

Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Escaire takes its name from the set square — the architect's most fundamental instrument of measurement and construction. Two triangular planes in dark brown and chalk white, hand-built from layered house-made pattern paper, meet at a precise diagonal edge. Two steel rods emerge from the join at deliberate angles, neither decorative nor structural — somewhere between antenna and compass needle, between signal and direction. The architect's tools, reconsidered in the architect's material.

The Form:

At 37cm tall and 22cm wide, Escaire stands with the quiet authority of something that has been thought through completely. The dark brown plane is dense and grounded — raw, slightly rough, absorbing light. The chalk white plane is the opposite — reflective, mineral, catching every shift in the room's light. Where they meet, the two steel rods mark the point of tension: the line where two different surfaces, two different tones, two different intentions become one object.

This is the most architecturally resolved piece in the Reshaping Collection. It belongs in a space that can receive it.
