The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Disc is the collection's most horizontal form — a low, wide vessel that sits on a surface the way a stone sits in a riverbed: with complete inevitability. Hand-built in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper, its cross-sectional silhouette references the geological rather than the ceramic — a slice through something ancient rather than a vessel thrown on a wheel.
The Form:
At 22cm in diameter and just 9cm tall, Disc holds a single stem, a small branch, or nothing at all. The minimal opening at the top is deliberate — this is not a vase for abundance but for restraint. One stem. One gesture. One moment of the Mediterranean brought inside. The chalk-white mineral surface shifts between warm and cool depending on the light, the irregular edge of the form catching shadow differently throughout the day.
