Created from recycled materials, coated in textured plaster and finished with a warm, metallic-painted top, this sculptural vase is a timeless beauty of aged terracotta. The Concept:

Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Pithos takes its name from the ancient Mediterranean storage vessel — the large ceramic jar used across centuries to hold oil, grain, and wine in the civilisations that shaped this coastline. Hand-built in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper and plaster, this lidded vessel form carries that same sense of permanence and purpose, reinterpreted in recovered material.

The Form:

At 37cm tall and 32cm in diameter, Pithos is a floor object — substantial enough to anchor a corner, an entrance hall, or a considered living space. The rough grey exterior surface, built up through successive layers of paper and plaster, sits in deliberate contrast with the clean copper collar and lid: raw material meeting refined detail. The lid lifts. The vessel holds. What it holds is yours to decide.
