"Jardí — Fusta" Mixed Garden Sculpture – Reshaping Collection

The Concept:

Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Jardí — Fusta is the wood counterpart to the paper-base Jardí series — the same meadow logic, a completely different foundation. A section of driftwood, collected and drilled by hand in The Studio, holds a mixed arrangement of handmade paper flowers and dried botanicals: orange and white paper peonies alongside dried palm, eucalyptus, bunny tail grasses, yellow mimosa, and deep crimson yarn pompoms. Two material worlds — made and found, permanent and dried — meeting in one composition.

The Form:

At approximately 40cm long, the driftwood base sits low and horizontal, the natural bark surface preserved with all its specificity — the grain, the weathering, the colour of wood that has been somewhere before arriving here. The arrangement rises at varied heights, some stems tall and reaching, some low and tucked, the composition following the logic of a meadow rather than a florist's arrangement. No two Jardí — Fusta are identical: the driftwood determines the form, the arrangement follows its lead.
