The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Jonc takes its name from the Catalan word for reed — the tall, wind-bent marsh grasses that edge the wetlands and estuaries of the Costa Brava. Hand-formed in The Studio, this centrepiece sculpture fixes a moment of the landscape in permanent form: dried grasses, wheat stems, wildflowers, and hand-painted teal stems rising from a low mineral-white base, each element placed with the deliberate irregularity of something that grew there.
The Form:
At 50cm long and 10cm in both width and height, the base sits low and horizontal — grounding the composition while the botanicals extend upward to varying heights, creating a skyline that changes depending on where you stand. Part sculpture, part still life, part landscape. Placed on a console table, a dining table, or a low shelf, Jonc turns any surface into a considered moment.
