The Concept:

Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Llera takes its name from the Catalan word for riverbed — the dry, sun-bleached stone channel of a seasonal river, hollowed by centuries of water and absence. Hand-built in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper, this low horizontal form sits on a surface the way a stone sits in a landscape: with complete inevitability.

The Form:

At 40 × 28 × 10cm, Llera is a tray, a bowl, a sculptural object, and a ritual surface all at once. The interior hollow cradles a candle, a stone, a handful of dried flowers — whatever the room requires. The exterior walls are built up through successive layers of paper and natural binders, finished in matte mineral white. No two edges are identical. No two surfaces catch light the same way.
