"Llosa" Surface Slab – Reshaping Collection

The Concept:

Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Llosa — the Catalan word for flagstone — began as something else entirely. Hand-cast in Portland cement in The Studio, the organic irregular edge is not a design decision but a material truth: the form that emerged when the original intention was abandoned and the cement was allowed to find its own boundary. The result is a surface that reads like a piece of coastal rock lifted from a path above the harbour — specific, unrepeatable, completely at home.

The Form:

At approximately 24×22cm and 3.5cm thick, Llosa is a platform — for candles, for a small vessel, for a Buddha set, for a mikado holder, for whatever the room requires at its center. The raw cement surface, slightly porous and warm in tone, grounds everything placed on it. It turns a collection of objects into a considered vignette simply by giving them a shared edge to inhabit.

No two Llosa slabs are identical. The edge of each one is determined by the pour, the cure, and the particular moment of release from the mold.
