The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Òrbit is a circular vessel built around its own absence. Hand-formed in The Studio from layered house-made pattern paper, the ring form carries a single opening at the top — sized precisely for one stem — while the asymmetric negative space below creates the void that defines the whole piece. The stem passes through both: through the opening, through the air inside the circle, emerging from the other side. The vessel and the arrangement become one object.
The Form:
At 23cm in diameter, Òrbit stands on a flat base with the quiet authority of a form that has resolved itself completely. The chalk-white mineral surface — built through successive layers of paper and natural binders — references the same geological honesty as the rest of the Reshaping vessel series. But where the other vessels hold, Òrbit frames. Place a single tall stem through the opening and the circle becomes a viewfinder, a portal, a second composition within the first.
