The Concept:
Part of the ongoing Reshaping Collection, Écorce explores the tension between fragility and permanence. Each vessel is hand-built in The Studio using layered house-made pattern paper, then gilded by hand on the interior — the raw outer shell in deliberate contrast with the warm gold within.
The Form:
The irregular, open rim and textured exterior reference the natural forms of bark, shell, and eroded coastline. Available as a large statement vessel or a pair of smaller companions, each piece is unique in its folding and finish. Together, they create a still life. Individually, each holds its own.
Specifications:
Large vessel: ~28 cm diameter
Small vessels: ~14 cm diameter
Medium: Hand-layered house pattern paper, genuine gold leaf, matte mineral exterior finish.
Philosophy: Material honesty — what was once discarded pattern becomes vessel, ritual object, and light-catcher.
